The internal layout of the MAP5021 Dual-Bay Burly Enclosure.

Primary enclosure fan is in the backplane. Shielded power supply is on the base of the enclosure.
Power supply cabling is in the upper-left in the photo above, SCSI ID wires are to the lower-left,
front enclosure LED drive indicator wires are in the upper-right, all secured with rubberbands.
The power cables for the MAPHT2 fans are in the lower right-hand corner.

Inside Your Basic Burly Enclosure

  1. Organizing your remaining wiring in this fashion ensures that you have plenty of room to maneuver, and helps keep things organized.

  2. Note the roominess of the interior. Lots of space for heat to radiate into, so it can be blown out the rear of the enclosure by the beefy fan in the backplane. These all-steel enclosures have great cooling characteristics.

  3. Now is a good time to restart the CD, and maybe get another beer. You should also inspect the inside of the enclosure, and make sure there are no screws or moisture packets tucked away anywhere.
