Screw them in a little more than finger tight.

Attaching Your Drive Brackets
- Your 3.5-inch to 5.25-inch drive brackets are needed to mount your drive inside the Burly Enclosure. They are included with your Front Mount Fan Kits.
- Dissipate any built up static electricity you may have accumulated by touching the grey metal on your Mac's power supply, then pick up one of your drives. Avoid touching the green PCB controller board, where all the circuitry resides. Flip it on its side. See the screw holes? Line up one of your brackets with the side of the drive, and start your screws. Don't tighten them down too much yet. Just get them started. You will need to mount the short side of of the drive bracket to the drive's flank. Don't worry, you'll see what we mean when you hold the hardware in your hands.
- Use two screws per side, and mount the drive brackets on each side of your drive. You will want to use the screw holes nearest the front of the drive, rather than the ones nearest the rear, generally. This will have the effect of pushing the drive deeper into the main bay of the Burly Enclosure, which is where you want it in order to maximize cooling airflow over its upper and lower surfaces.
- Once your brackets are mounted, puti your drive inside the Burly Enclosure, so you can see where it goes, and how the screw holes on the drive bracket interface with the steel chassis of the enclosure. This step is just to visualize where things go, and how they fit. When you are sure you have the bracket mounted properly on the drive, then tighten your screws down. A little more than finger-tight.
