Step 14: Termination



Make sure your Granite terminator properly screws into the
68-pin ribbon cable connectors in the MAP5021 Dual-Bay Burly Enclosure.


Thread the screws in carefully, and do not over-tighten. The barrel screws are soft metal.
They, too, can get mushed.

Testing the Connections

  1. Make sure the barrel screws on your Granite terminator interface properly and screw tightly into the barrel connectors on the external ribbon cable connector. Go finger-tight with these. We use a little flat-bladed screw driver to get them nice and snug.

  2. Your humble webmaster's pudgy hand is holding a Granite LED Remote Indicator in the photo above. This useful little device can be very helpful, and it looks cool. It plugs into the port on the rear of the Granite terminator. If you're wondering what they are, you can read about them on our Terminators page.
