PCI-Express Host Cards and RAID cards

 Some great choices in PCIe SATA Host cards these days. All the cards except the internal port Sonnet card are Port Multiplier capable and can handle either single drives or Port Multiplier Enclosures with up to 5 drives per external cable. The new 4 Port Lycom card is a Silicon Image card that works with both Macs and PCs. This is one of the finest cards we have ever tested - fast and at an awesome price. From Sonnet we have the excellent E4P. This card is compatible with the Dual Core G5s and the MacPro towers.

  We also have a 2 port Lycom card for those needing just one or two external ports. These 2 port cards take only a single lane of PCIe slot and are limited in total maximum throughput. This card uses the SilImage 3132 chipset.
