Same dates in Mail

A friend has a strange issue with Mail.

The dates of all his emails are the same when viewed in the main window (i.e. the 'Date Received' column on the top right). When he opens individual messages, they are fine.

He says the 'Date Sent' column is also showing the same date for every message.

We're puzzled...
